W. N. Herbert
WN Herbert is mostly published by Bloodaxe Books, who are bringing out his latest collection, The Wreck of the Fathership, this October. He has taught at Newcastle University since 2002, before which he was the first Wordsworth Trust Fellow at Grasmere. From 2013-18, he was Dundee’s first Makar, or City Laureate. He is also lead poet on the Westpark public art project in Darlington, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
Poet and editor of several anthologies and web-based poetry projects, including, with WN Herbert, Whaleback City (EUP), and New Boots and Pantisocracies (Smokestack). Born in Salford, England in 1965 and moved to the East of Scotland in 1992. In 2017, he was Makar to the Federation of Writers Scotland. Collections include A Beginner’s Guide to Cheating, published by Red Squirrel Press in 2015. Third collection, The Saints Are Coming will be published later this year by Blue Diode Press.
